When ListOff is a good fit
Try it if you want a category game you can start by yourself, if you enjoy listing lots of answers about one subject, or if friends cannot all play at the same time. You do not need a group to begin a solo round.
The timer rewards momentum. Accepted answers add 3 seconds, or 5 for a rare answer. At most 60 seconds can remain on the clock, but a successful round can last longer than one minute in total.
When you may prefer the classic game
Choose classic Scattergories if the shared letter, filling several categories, and debating answers around the table are what you enjoy most. ListOff does not reproduce that ruleset or provide a live group room.
This comparison covers the classic tabletop format described by Hasbro. Other editions and mobile adaptations can have different rules and features.
What to know before downloading
If you are unsure whether the typing and timer suit you, try the short English browser demo before downloading. It samples the recall mechanic; it is not the full iPhone game.
- ListOff is an iPhone app requiring iOS 17 or later. There is no native Android version.
- Every topic is free; the app contains ads and optional in-app purchases.
- Supported typos, nicknames, and abbreviations can count. The matcher is forgiving, but it cannot accept every imaginable answer.
- Friend challenges are played separately. Share a completed round, then compare results when your friend plays.
